CALL TO ORDER

Vice President Rachael Hileman called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm, and the meeting went live on YouTube
Live stream (https://www.youtube.com/@southgibsonschoolboardlive). In addition to Board members and Administration,
Angela Cooper of the South Gibson Teachers Association, Principal Dr. Nicole Alcorn, were present in addition to
parents and patrons of South Gibson School Corporation.

Permission to advertise budgets for 2026
Highlights of Budget 2026 - subject to fine-tuning until the time of the meeting.
Property Tax Cap impact of $ 545,200, up from last year's impact of $ 160,000.
Net Assessed Valuation used in budget preparation of $1,066,530,085. Certified NAV is $1,333,162,606.
Tax rate to be advertised for Debt Service. .3726, up from .2611 from last year.
Tax rate to be advertised for Operations.. 0.6758, down from last year's .6953, but still capturing the estimated maximum levy of
$ 6,636,852
Budget for Education of $20,007.758 which includes transfers to operations of $1,970,936
Budget for Operations $8,376,546
Budget for Debt Service of $2,999,000
Continued HVAC work at HCS in 2026
No plans for new/replacement buses in 2026. We do finally have the two we ordered in 2023 & 2024.

After discussion on the budget particulars, Benson Davenport made a motion to approve the advertising of the budget as presented. Steve Gruszewski seconded the motion, and the budget advertising was approved on a vote of 4-0.

Dr. Perry reminded the Board of the upcoming board meetings in October (14th and 28th) as well as Fall Break (10th and 13th). Additionally, we have entered the sectional season in some of the fall sports.

With no further action to conduct, Benson Davenport made a motion to adjourn. Steve Gruszewski seconded the motio,n and the Board adjourned at 6:43 pm on a vote of 4-0.
