South Gibson School Corporation Board of Trustees Meeting

Larry Johnson made a motion to nominate Tim Nurrenbern as Board President.  The  nomination was seconded by Janet McBee and Mr. Nurrenbern was elected 5-0-1.

After being elected, Mr. Nurrenbern began running the meeting.  Janet McBee nominated Mike Bengert to be the Vice President of the Board.  David Lewis seconded the nomination and the Board voted 6/0 to elect Mr. Bengert as Vice President.

Larry Johnson nominated Janet McBee to be the Secretary of the Board.  Elizabeth Hirsch seconded the nomination and Mrs. McBee was elected to be Secretary 6/0.

Janet McBee nominated Mike Bengert to be the President of the South Gibson School Corporation Board of Finance.  Elizabeth Hirsch seconded the nomination and Mr. Bengert was elected President of the South Gibson School Board of Finance by a 6/0 vote.

Janet McBee nominated David Lewis to be the Secretary of the South Gibson School Corporation Board of Finance.  Elizabeth Hirsch seconded the nomination and David Lewis was elected to the position 6/0.

On the recommendation of Dr. Humbaugh, Larry Johnson made a motion to set the normal meetings of the Board to be the third Tuesday of each month, at 6:30 p.m., at Gibson Southern High School.  David Lewis seconded the motion, and the motion passed 6/0.

On the recommendation of Dr. Humbaugh, David Lewis recommended the approval of the 2014 contract with Legal Counsel J. Robert Kinkle as presented.  The motion was seconded by Larry Johnson and the contract was approved 6/0.

On the recommendation of Dr. Humbaugh, Elizabeth Hirsch made a motion to appoint Elaine Tenbarge as the 2014 South Gibson School Corporation Treasurer.  The motion was seconded by Janet McBee and the motion passed unanimously.

Mr. Kinkle informed the Board of the new requirements concerning Superintendent's contracts.  Because of these new requirements, an advertisement will be placed in the Princeton Daily Clarion on Friday, January 17, 2014, to announce a public meeting to be held during the Board meeting on January 28, 2014.  Action can then be taken on the revised contract on February 18, 2014 at the regular February meeting.
